How the SJSU Cyber Bootcamp Works

The SJSU Cyber Bootcamp is designed for students to pursue high-quality tech education while continuing to balance work or other commitments. Our program provides you with the flexibility to fit career development into your life

All bootcamp classes are instructor-led and taught 100% online.

Full-time and part-time bootcamp programs are available.

  • All classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

    • 6:30pm-9:30pm PT
  • All classes are held Monday-Friday.

    • 8:30am-2:30pm PT

Tuition

There are many ways to pay for your bootcamp experience including self-pay, employer-pay, local/state government assistance, scholarships, and personal loans. Learn more about payment options.

  • San José State University is committed to making tech education more accessible, so we’re reducing the enrollment deposit to $99* (normally $1,000) for a limited time. Get started on your journey before the deposit increases!

    *Offer eligibility: Upon admittance into the program, pay the non-refundable $99 deposit in full prior to the enrollment date.

Classes are mostly hands-on with the majority of students’ time spent learning how to monitor and secure systems, networks, and applications as well as how to appropriately respond to cyber breaches.

  • Many of our part-time students are working full time while taking the program. Keep in mind that there are 10 hours in class and 15-20 hours worth of homework per week.

  • Yes, the San José State University Cyber Bootcamp is beginner-friendly. It’s specifically designed for professionals who have no previous experience in cybersecurity. While some background knowledge is helpful, the only expectation is that students have general computer literacy skills in basics like efficiently using the internet/cloud and Windows.

  • Your time with our career success team will include everything from workshops to one-on-one office hours to phone chats before big interviews. And on top of all that, the team will be working behind the scenes to find openings that are right for you and staying up-to-date on the latest recruiting trends to make sure they prepare you for everything.

  • To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years old and a high school grad/GED holder by the start date of your intended cohort. You must also be a resident of the state of California to enroll in one of the San José State Tech Bootcamps.

  • Complete the application, take the assessment (60 minutes), and receive a decision. While taking the assessment, you may pause to save your progress and return at a later time. At any point in the process, you can also schedule a time to speak with one of our Student Advisors who can walk you through the process and answer your questions.

  • Graduates earn a certificate of completion issued by San José State University and Fullstack Academy.
